Molten Cloud empowers creators and rights-holders of media content through technological innovation. The Molten Cloud platform transforms and simplifies today's complex intellectual property rights, content and licensing operations. The platform is used by media organizations to manage over 175M film/TV rights, hosting data and content for over 10% of all movies known to exist (per IMDB).

Founded in the heart of MIT, Molten Cloud is committed to breaking the barriers that hold digital creativity and media experiences back today. We are a diverse team of hackers, hustlers, and hipsters, and are backed by leading media-tech investors and advisors such as Jack Dorsey and Ashton Kutcher.

Position Overview:

As a UI/UX Designer at Molten Cloud, you will play a crucial role in crafting intuitive and visually stunning user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience of our product. Working closely with our product and development teams, you will have the opportunity to influence the design direction and contribute to the success of our platform.

As a UX/UI Designer, you will join our product team in the following areas.

  • Contribute to the design, architecture, research and development of Molten Cloud’s core platform and applications
  • Interface with customers to gain a deeper understanding of media industry workflows
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to iterate on designs and improve user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand user requirements and translate them into intuitive and engaging user experiences.
  • Work closely with the Head of Product on bringing Molten Cloud’s product vision to market
  • Collaborate with the business and engineering teams to bring your designs to life
  • Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts.
  • Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI component libraries to ensure consistency across the product.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UI/UX design to drive innovation and improve design processes.

Technical skill set:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design projects and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and justify design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Python, Javascript, HTML and CSS is a bonus.

Your job is to simplify workflows, making complex tasks easier. Beautiful design work will come alongside simplicity, especially as we are in the rights world.

As an ideal fit for this role, you are analytical, entrepreneurial and organized.

  • Creative with an eye for design: You know when something doesn’t look quite right and you are committed to your work down to the last pixel. Understanding human-computer interaction is natural for you. You take pride in developing clean, elegant and intuitive user workflows.
  • Empathic: You are able to view the app and the task from the users point of view and understand, sympathize and advocate for a solution that best fits their needs
  • Analytical: you have a rigorous academic background and a proven ability to think original, train yourself on new skills and innovate to solve difficult problems.
  • Entrepreneurial: you thrive in the startup environment, you take ownership of your work, you are passionate about ambitious ideas, you ask for help when needed and collaborate with teammates to leverage their complementary skill sets
  • Organized: when things get overwhelming for most people, you have the demonstrated ability to put things in perspective, prioritize your own workload, and deliver results.

Our culture is about being rigorous at work and celebrating our big and small wins as a team. At Molten Cloud, you will have the opportunity to own and lead your own workstreams, learn from exceptional individuals on the team, and help build technology that matters across the world. Everyone on the team primarily works remotely, and the company reimburses purchases for laptops and other office supplies.
