This is a hybrid role (remote & in-office) as the hiring team will require the student to come to the office approximately 3 days a week.


Program Term:
This role is a 8 month position from January 9, 2024 – August 23, 2024


About the Department

Our team develops software that integrates with AMD’s Radeon Graphics cards. Our goal is to bring value to our customers by improving their user experience with our software. While this can be challenging, we find it to be incredibly meaningful, especially when we succeed. We work collectively to design, build and market our software within a product release cycle. As part of this cycle, each year we plan, prioritize, test and release new features with our software.

The Role

Your goal will be to integrate as part of the team and our product release cycle, by communicating and working with team members to create user interface designs and solutions for new and existing software products.


Re
sponsibilities

  • Work with product managers and developers to understand and help define new and update existing features in our products
  • Define the user interaction and flow of features for new and existing products
  • Review, present and communicate your designs with product managers, developers and senior team members
  • Thoughtfully incorporate gathered feedback into your designs and keep the team up to date with changes
  • Provide team members with updates and rough estimates for when you expect to complete your day to day tasks
  • Be proactive in communicating with and helping the team by understanding their expectations and your responsibilities

  • Building click-through prototypes
  • Communicating and working with team members
  • Reviewing your designs and work with the team
  • Creating production ready mockups and assets

  • How to review designs, receive criticism and incorporate feedback

Preferred Qualifications

  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates understanding in creating usable interfaces and interactions. Show us your process and thinking.
  • Knowledge with mobile, desktop and responsive design is a plus
  • Experience with using and working in Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma or other equivalents
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Enrollment in a university/college program for design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related/equivalent field.
