UX/UI Design Intern

FreshFind began during the pandemic as a platform for farmers markets to modernize their operations and do e-commerce. We currently offer professional services and an online marketplace for local vendors of all kinds across Canada. We are on a mission to empower amazing local, independent producers to make their passions & creations more accessible.

Job Description:
As a UX/UI intern at FreshFind, you will collaborate with our product team to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for our customer portal. You will be involved in the entire design process, from research and wireframing to prototyping and testing.

Responsibilities:

To accomplish this, we expect that you will:

• Assist in user research to understand customer needs and preferences
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for the customer portal
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and iterate designs
• Conduct usability testing to identify and address user experience issues
• Incorporate feedback and make revisions to designs as necessary
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into designs

Qualifications:

• Must have a portfolio of previous design work available for review
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software
• Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, typography, color theory, and composition
• Knowledge of design trends and techniques
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members

What support will you receive during the internship?

You will work closely with the Project Lead who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to your tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 4 months

Salary: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
