Job Summary

We are seeking a user experience design intern to assist with our global suite of applications and digital channels. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, experience, passion and innovation to the role which focuses on user-centered experience across our digital ecosystem.

The intern will assist in enhancing our design system and improving our customer facing applications.. This role reports directly to the Manager, User Experience Design and works closely with our senior visual designers and UI developers with the goal of improving the user experience for Iron Mountain’s critical customer facing applications. Additionally, there is the opportunity to collaborate with other interns.

Key Responsibilities

  • 50% Enhancing the Design System, updating Figma components, documenting in Knapsack.
  • 40% Updating application designs in Figma for handoff to developers
  • 10% Research how to leverage AI for creating designs

Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

Educational Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expectation that the degree will be obtained by July 2025 or earlier
  • Must be returning to the course of study following completion of the internship
  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Data Analytics, or similar field

Requirements

  • Participation in the internship program requires that you are located in the continental United States for the duration of the program
  • You will be evaluated for a full time position with their team
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • This is a 40 hour per week assignment, lasting between 10-12 weeks with the expected start date being May 20, 2024

Technical Skill Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experienced in Figma (leveraging design systems, interactive components, autolayout)
  • Experience with Knapsack design system tool
  • Understanding of javascript (ideally ReactJS) and CSS
  • Basic understanding of using AI to create designs
  • A portfolio demonstrating design systems (and ideally some Knapsack knowledge)

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, initiative, and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality output in a timely and consistent manner

Reasonably expected salary range: $26,400.00 - $33,000.00
