Why Intern with the AAA The Auto Club Group (ACG)

The ACG Internship Program aims to provide a rich, relevant, and rewarding experience for college students. The goal of the program is to provide interns the opportunity to connect, network, and grow as they work on department-specific projects and is designed to enhance the skills and abilities of young professionals as well as to identify and attract future talent for our organization.  

In this position with the AAA ACG User Experience Design team you will:

  • Receive one-on-one and team mentorship and training from seasoned UX professionals in design, research, strategy, analysis and presentation
  • Help to make ACG’s digital properties (website, mobile app, digital tools) as user friendly as possible, while taking into account business needs and possible constraints

A DAY IN THE LIFE of a User Experience Design Intern

ACG is seeking a motivated student to join our team as a User Experience Intern who will work with a team of designers and researchers to create effective, positive user experiences.  

  • Assist with user experience design – e.g. prototypes, wireframes - for new development features for ACG digital properties
  • Assist with user experience discussions to gather data from both external and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with UX research design, fielding, and interpretation of results to provide actionable recommendations for improved customer experiences.
  • Assist with UAT efforts through development of testing plans and executing tests against the plan
  • Advocate for the end user by influencing decisions to ensure that product and design decisions are aligned with user needs and expectations

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with experienced UX designers and managers on real-world projects
  • Develop, execute, and analyze quantitative and qualitative UX research project
  • Present designs and research findings to UX team, managers, line-of-business employees, and senior executives
  • Build your professional network and make industry connections

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO

Required Qualifications:

Must have:

  • Must be studying Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Digital Marketing, Psychology or related field
  • Possess a basic understanding of user experience/HCI principles
  • Documentation of UX work (not necessarily a portfolio/portfolio site)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, organization skills, and strong situational adaptability  
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with design/prototyping software (Adobe XD, Figma)

Must be:

  • At least a junior or senior and must be fully enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program at an accredited college/university, with GPA over 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S

Compensation and Time Commitment  

The Auto Club Group will provide compensation of $18.50/hour for 40 hours/week. The interns will be expected to report during the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm (ET) Monday through Friday for the duration of the Summer Semester.

Work Environment

This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.
