JOB OVERVIEW
To provide leadership and expertise on user experience design research, web strategy and governance and service design for ministry web properties. Utilizes user experience (UX) methodologies including design research, web content development, information architecture, interaction and graphic design and accessibility standards to ensure that the ministry’s online presence is citizen-centered, user focused and aligned with corporate strategies and standards.

Job Requirements:


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, Communications or Social Sciences; OR
  • An equivalent combination of related experience and/or education may be considered
  • A minimum of 1 year of training or experience in utilizing human-centred design methods to design and deliver services including experience in EACH of the following:
    • Design research
    • Prototyping and wireframing with tools like Mural, Figma, Adobe XD
    • User experience and user interface design


Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in workshop design and facilitation
  • Experience in working on an agile product team
  • Experience in conceptual and strategic systems thinking
  • Experience in understanding of how product design interacts with service design.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until July 7, 2025, this temporary opportunity may become permanent.
The position headquarters will be Victoria, Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey or Prince George.
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
