The Digital User Experience Analyst will join the ENMAX digital team to provide leadership and strategic analysis on new digital initiatives and enhance the customer experience by improving the usability, accessibility, and interaction between customers and our digital channels.

The ideal candidate works best in highly collaborative, cross-functional teams; particularly on projects that span waterfall and agile development methodologies. Working across the user experience domain, the user experience designer will have a primary focus on problem analysis, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design, and will have knowledge and expertise with development technologies such as CSS, HTML, React and Storybook.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project leads and stakeholders to gather project requirements, analyze business problems, and develop UX strategies for the business.
  • Lead the design of new and existing projects using a design thinking process.
  • Provide mentorship to UX design team members and business stakeholders.
  • Lead user research activities such as click tracking, A/B testing, and usability testing to better understand user needs and pain points.
  • Create user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications, translating designs across all devices and screen sizes.
  • Present and rationalize UX design concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including those at an executive level.
  • Prepare designs for handoff to development teams, participating in UX and development reviews and providing feedback to developers as required.
  • Help define and build the design language system for ENMAX digital using Figma, HTML/CSS, React and Storybook components.
  • Stay up to date on the latest UX trends and best practices.

Education Required:

  • Undergraduate degree or post-secondary education in a related discipline such as web design, computer science, human-computer interaction, industrial/product design, visual design, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years working in a UX or design-based role.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience leading UX driven projects and mentoring peers.
  • Experience analyzing complex business problems and advising on strategic solutions.
  • Proven track record creating simple and intuitive experiences for complex processes and tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of UX design tools such as Figma.
  • Thorough understanding of HTML and CSS and how React components work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency gathering and interpreting web metrics and analytics (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and CrazyEgg experience is preferred).
  • A diverse portfolio that demonstrates strong user experience design and research principles.

Salary: Analyst, Level C (Current CUPE 2024 rates)

$97,206.20 - $103,276.63 - $109,366.89 - $115,437.32 - $121,507.75

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
